How can I prepare for my cake smash session?

Your baby’s cake smash is all about fun, laughter, and celebrating that first big milestone! 🧁
To help your little one feel comfortable, let them try a bit of cake or frosting before the session — sometimes they need a little practice.

On the day, bring along their favourite toy or snack (we can even hide it in the cake for a smile!). Don’t forget a sippy cup and a spare outfit for both of you.

Every session ends with a warm bubble bath — I provide towels and washcloths, so you can leave with a clean and happy baby.

What happens during a cake smash session?

Each session is relaxed and tailored to your baby. We’ll start with some clean portraits, then move into the cake fun! Some babies dive right in, while others need a little encouragement — both make for adorable photos.

After the cake smash, we finish with a bubbly mini bath for those sweet, splashy shots. You get to enjoy the moment while I handle all the mess!

What should my baby wear?

You’re welcome to use one of my beautiful cake smash outfits or bring your own. I recommend something simple and soft that allows your baby to move freely.

And a quick tip: bring a spare outfit for yourself too, icing has a funny way of spreading!

When should I book my session?

Cake smash sessions book out fast, so it’s best to secure your spot early — ideally when your baby is around 9–11 months old.

Many parents schedule their session 3–4 weeks before the birthday so the gallery is ready for invitations and party décor.

When will I receive my images?

You’ll receive your fully edited online gallery within 14 days after your session. If you’d like the photos ready for invitations, please mention that when booking so I can plan your timeline.

What if my baby is sick?

If your little one isn’t feeling well, please contact me to reschedule. I completely understand, little ones get sicj often and I want the session to be fun for everyone. We want a happy and healthy Baby — we’ll get much better photos that way!

Where are you located?

All cake smash sessions take place in my warm, home-based studio in Point Cook, Victoria — just 25 minutes west of Melbourne’s CBD.

How does payment work?

A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date, with the remaining balance due on the day of your session.

Payment plans are also available — making it easy to spread the cost of your session.

Do you provide the cake?

Yes! A simple,vanilla cake is included in my cake smash packages. You’re also welcome to bring your own if your baby has allergies or special preferences.

Can siblings join in?

Absolutely! I love including a few sibling or family shots at the beginning of your session. Just let me know ahead of time so we can plan the setup.

Do you offer custom themes?

Yes! From Safari to Boho Rainbow and beyond — I love creating unique setups tailored to your baby’s personality.
