While many parents imagine their baby diving straight into the cake, that’s not always the case—some babies need a little warming up. To help Baby feel comfortable, consider letting them try a bit of cake (or a cupcake) beforehand to get used to the taste and texture.

On the big day, be sure to bring along Baby’s favorite toy for comfort and a favorite snack—just in case we need a little bribery (yes, we can even hide it in the cake!). Don’t forget a sippy cup to help wash down all that yummy frosting!

And here’s the best part: every cake smash session ends with a fun bubble bath! It’s the perfect way to clean up after all the sticky, sugary fun. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered with towels and washcloths, so you’ll leave with a clean and happy little one.

Not all little ones dive into their cake right away—some need a little encouragement to explore the frosting and flavors. That’s completely normal, and those curious, cautious moments often make for the sweetest photos. Whether your baby is smashing, squishing, or just having fun, we’ll capture every adorable detail!

Once your little one has had their fill of cake (and mess!), it’s time for a splashy finale in the mini bathtub. With warm bubbles and lots of giggles, we’ll get those irresistibly cute bath-time shots. And the best part? Baby will leave squeaky clean and ready to head home, while the mess stays with me—that’s all part of the package!

Images will be delivered to you via an online gallery 10-14 days after the Cake smash. Please keep that in mind when booking the session, especially if you want to use them for the Birthday invitations.

Please contact me before your session to reschedule. The cakes generally keep really well in the fridge for 7 days. It is always better to rebook your session, if your baby is unwell, overtired or grizzly with teething as we are very unlikely to get a good session from them that day.

The Cake smash sessions take place at my home based studio in Point Cook, Victoria (25kms West of Melbournes CBD).

A non refundable $100 deposit is payable at the time of booking a cake smash session to secure your date, with the balance due on the day of the session. Pricing can be found here on my pricing page
