How to prepare for your birthday cake smash

Smash cake photography sessions are such a fun and joyous way to celebrate your Baby’s first Birthday! But don’t assume that every Baby will dive right into the cake, sometimes Babies just don’t like the texture or taste of cake, especially if they have never tasted it before! A good way to prevent this is to give them a little taste of cake at home (or even a cupcake to “smash”).
I also always ask the parents to bring Baby’s favourite snack along, as we might need to hide it in the cake should Baby prefer that over the sugar.
And don’t forget to bring a water bottle, the cake tends to make the little ones thirsty!
Every Baby is unique and so is every cake smash photoshoot, it is best to just sit back and relax and I will make sure to capture cute portraits of your Baby!
